Mitzi Perdue is a Harvard graduate who is a writer, speaker, and author. She was previously on LIFEOLOGY® Radio when she published her award-winning book, The Frank Perdue Way, which shared the secrets to her late husband’s success. In today’s episode, James and Mitzi talk about her mission to help clear landmines in Ukraine and how you can help as well.
Mitzi has organized a campaign to raise funds for HALO Trust USA, the world’s largest humanitarian mine-clearing organization. HALO currently employs 650 staff in Ukraine, 20% of which are Ukrainian war widows and refugees responsible for landmine clearance. To date, HALO staff have cleared an area the size of 36 soccer fields and have destroyed more than 237 explosives.
Over 3,000 Ukrainian civilians have been injured due to landmines planted since the invasion, and the Ukrainian government estimates that 40% of the country – around 250,000 square kilometers – may still be littered with mines and explosives.
