Sometimes we are so overwhelmed with worry and anxiety that we just can’t stop thinking. After a while, it feels like we are going out of our mind with fear and uncertainty.
A quick way to stop this is to use an ice cube. Simply put the ice cube in your palm or rub it along the inside of your arm.
Another more drastic technique is to stand under the showerhead and turn the cold water on. As soon as it hits you, I promise, you will not be thinking about your anxious thoughts.
These techniques aren’t going to fix everything but they give you a few seconds or minutes of not worrying. This little break allows you to start to focus on the present and what you can do as opposed to what you cannot do.
