Perry Sharboneau is the father of the Sharboneau clan and one of the stars of “Only in Iola”. He hails from a good life, with his family owning a deeply successful beer business when Perry was small.

Throughout his life, Perry has been a keen observer of the wilderness, traveling all over the world, and taking his young son, Braydon, on his very first safari when the boy was only 7 years old. Living life by the guiding principle that men are stewards for the realm of animals, Perry has dedicated much of his life to conserving wildlife. He believes in living off the land and growing your own food, which is what the family is now doing on their Iola ranch. Together with the rest of the family, Perry must learn to live on a smaller, more natural scale at their new beautiful Iola ranch. This change is a welcome and happy one.

But for Perry, the change is a welcome and happy one. Ever since he was a boy, Perry’s been fascinated with country living, ranches, and has even worked as a guide on other Texas ranches. However, he always wanted to own one himself. Although he lived a life of luxury, the bustling city was not providing what he needed, and he always knew his heart belonged out there, in nature.

Braydon Sharboneau is a kid like few others. While only still a child, Braydon’s passion for the outdoors has earned him international acclaim for his many feats in sports, fishing and hunting. At only 9 years old, Braydon won the “Inspirational Kid” award by Austin Magazine. But Braydon had been passionate about the outdoors for a very long time before that. His very first fishing expedition with his father, Perry, occurred when Braydon was only two years old. It was the beginning of a lifelong passion. At the ripe age of six, Braydon took part in his first international fishing tournament, and placed third in the (adult) competition for Black Drum.

During a safari in Africa, Braydon donated the meat he’d hunted to a local school, and befriended the local Swahili population. As a show of friendship and a sign that he’d be welcomed back, he was even given a Swahili name. Together with his parents, Braydon has traveled all over the world, in search of exotic wildlife and adventure. Aged only 7, he traveled with dad, Perry, and mom, Shanalee ,to Africa, where he harvested a bronze level World Record Blue Wildebeest, a great feat even for skilled, adult professionals..

In today’s episode, Perry and Braydo talk, about his reality show, Only in Iola.  This reality show follows the Sharboneau family as they move from the hustle and bustle of a sprawling Texas metropolis to the quaint town of Iola, Texas, Viewers will follow their journey from city life to a small-town  of 300 people.
