Have you ever wondered why you are hungry at night and the next thing you know you’ve eaten the whole bag of potato chips? Late-night snacking may not be what you think it is.

Our body struggles with distinguishing between hunger, thirst, and sleepiness. There are hormones in your body like Ghrelin and Leptin which tell us when we are hungry and when we are full. If your belly is not telling you are hungry, but your mind is, more than likely you are confusing hunger with sleepiness or thirst. The rule of thumb is this, if your belly isn’t grumbling then either drink a big glass of water or simply go to bed.
