LIFEOLOGY® – Episode 163: Why You Overreact

Anytime we or someone we are talking to overreacts, more than likely, once of you used a Thinking Error. In psychology, we teach that whatever you perceive to be true, determines what you feel. What you feel determines how you respond.

Think of a Thinking Error like this. In your mind's eye, you analyze what is happening. A thinking error is like a lens that you see through that distorts what's actually happening.

A quick workaround to stop overreacting is simply to ask the other person for clarification on what they meant. More than likely, a Thinking Error was used and there's no need for an argument to start.
